“Mum was telling us that when she was at the shoot at Clova. I can’t remember who it was but

somebody had said that they had two Jack Russells. And they had them in a kennel outside.

“And the Jack Russells had tunnelled out of the kennel and got away. And they were searching,

searching, searching and they’d looked in the wood and where were they, where were they. And

he’s calling and calling and thinking they were lost.

“ And this little dog’s head pops out of the trees about two days later so he followed them up. And

the dogs went back in and they’d made a wee little house, the two dogs, and they had a dead

rabbit in there and looking like as if to say, “ Thanks, We’re fine, we’re coping fine we’re not coming

home”.”
